The difference is more than the price of service! Choose The Right Nanny is a professional agency. You'll be assigned a counselor who will conduct an interview to address specific needs. A nanny coordinator is also working for you; interviewing each candidate and completing a preliminary background check. You can be assured you will only be sent the best candidates selected specifically for your position. CTR Nanny partners with families to streamline the process for them. We value your time and your privacy. You won't have to wade through countless resumes which may not meet your expectations. Online nanny services are unmonitored databases. Anyone who calls themselves a care provider can register for jobs for anyone who will pay; no standards or requirements, no screening process, and the effort required to find a quality care provider can be extensive. The bottom line is you get what you pay for. CTR Nanny Clients believe that their loved ones deserve the very best care providers.
A nanny is a professional whose sole job it is to care for your child or children in their own home. Receiving individual attention is't possible in a daycare setting. Set your child's schedule, activities, and ensure that they are in the best possible environment to foster wholesome development. Their needs are best met at home where they feel more comfortable. An in-home provider allows families flexibility regarding hours, snow days, sick days, and travel etc. Nannies can also perform some light housekeeping, run errands, attend school functions, and arrange play dates.
The application fee covers some of the costs incurred before and during the candidate search. The fee guarantees that you have full access to CTR Nanny Services for one year.
Full-time/Part-time permanent placement: CTR Nanny offers a 90-day additional referral policy. Should your full-time care provider leave during that time, we will refer qualified applicants to replace the provider with no additional agency fees. All of our permanent providers are encouraged to make a minimum of 1-year commitment. Short-Term placement: We guaranty your provider to the extent that they will arrive and perform according to scheduled services. If an On-Call provider is unable to fill the commitment, another provider will be provided or your account will be credited toward another placement. More detailed information is contained in the Client Services Agreement.
Full-time Placements: We don't recommend a 'trial period' more than 2-3 days. Many of our candidates are currently employed or may not be able to commit to an extended trial period. The following guidelines must be applied: The trial period should not exceed 1-2 weeks. In most cases a weekend is sufficient. All expenses (travel, employee compensation, food and housing) are the responsibility of the family. CTR Nanny doesn't charge an fee for a 2-3 day visit; however if the provider stays with the family for more than 3 days, an agency fee of $75 per week will be charged and credited toward a full time placement fee within one year of service. There are no trial periods for short-term/On-Call candidates.
National Placements: CTR Nanny always initiates our search for qualified candidates in the area in which a family resides. Many times live-in placements come from outside your local area. CTR Nanny is a National Placement Agency and we recruit across the U.S.
Anywhere between two days to six weeks. Quality care providers are in demand constantly and the applicant list changes daily. The delicate nature of finding the right provider for your family should not be rushed. We approach each placement with patience and care.
CTR Nanny doesn't recommend candidates unless they have committed to work for a 1 year period, with the exception of short-term placements. On the average, our full-time caregivers stay in a home one to 3 years. A vacation or travel nanny works for shorter periods as specified by the employing family.
A nanny's primary responsibilities are concerning the care and welfare of children. Housekeepers are responsible for the cleanliness of the home. Home managers are responsible for the smooth running of the household and all related matters.
Nannies will perform child related duties as specified by the employing family. When a family has older school-aged children a nanny may be able to do other household related tasks, (grocery shopping, light housekeeping, meal planning, etc.) but their primary responsibility should remain the care and nurturing of the children. Should a family require the nanny to perform duties that are not child related, (i.e.: dog walking, snow blowing, yard maintenance) additional compensation is required. A detailed work agreement will be provided to you.
Hiring a household employee makes you an employer. You're required by law to pay your share of the taxes. There are fines and penalties for those who 'pay off the books' or 'pay under the table'. There are many tax benefits which may offset some or all of the taxes. CTR Nanny encourages families to abide by the law. Not all CPA's are familiar with household employment law. You counselor will refer you to qualified professionals.
Full-time care providers typically receive 2 weeks paid vacation, 6 major holidays, and 5-6 sick days per year. Many families offer a cell phone contribution, a transportation allowance or a car usage, insurance, travel, health club membership, and educational assistance.
No. CTR Nanny doesn't employ care providers directly. We are strictly a referral agency and our job is to refer highly qualified candidates to clients.
Absolutely NOT! Nannies usually work on a schedule of 8-12 hours per day on duty. Nannies need a break from their job to feel refreshed, happy, and able to have a social life. In many states it's unlawful for a care provider to work more than 40 hours per week without overtime.
Not in most cases. Question: 'Is the nanny expected to be available for emergencies (sick child, snow days) or required to do tasks during school hours?'; If the answer to either of these questions is 'Yes', then she should be compensated. If she can go about her own business, without regard to your family, she may be considered off.
Part-time: expected to work 15 to 29 hours per week. Full-time: expected to work 30+ hours per week. Live-in: will live with your family and work a set schedule with one to two days off per week, this type of employee will require a separate bedroom or living quarters, food and a salary. Temporary: works for three months or less to a set schedule of 20-45 hours per week. Occasional: works short-term 'on call', as needed, less than 15 hours per week (e.g. a babysitter)
Absolutely! We highly encourage you to meet with the caregiver and go over your job description in detail. Many families do hire without meeting the candidate if it isn't possible due to time or distance constraints. Most of these are still successful placements. On-Call providers are assigned by the agency and personal interviews are not possible.
